We now offer a course in Awareness Training for ALL MUSEUM EMPLOYEES, DOCENTS, AND VOLUNTEERS! It is also suitable for onboarding new employees, and as an annual refresher course for all staff.
This Awareness Training course is designed to provide all museum staff, including volunteers, docents, and visitor services staff, with a comprehensive understanding of how museums operate and the vital role they play in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. Consider this course a great staff orientation tool for new hires and as an annual refresher course for those seasoned staff members.
This course is badly needed. In my forty years as a consultant to nearly 1000 museums and my eight years as Executive Director of Protection Services for a major million square foot large city art museum, I learned first-hand that employees and volunteers unfamiliar with working in a high security environment can lose keys, leave high security doors unlocked, paint smoke detectors, and wreak havoc with your security program in many ways.
This short program taken online using any phone, tablet, or computer is designed to be presented as part of the onboarding process on the first day of employment or volunteering or as part of the docent training program. This is the first and only training program of its type.
